Our company was founded by Martin Fried as “Chef’s Pantry Wholesale Foods” in 1965. With a strong emphasis on top-quality meats, Chef’s Pantry began to grow in the successive years, providing an ever-expanding base of restaurants and institutions with beef, pork, and poultry products on a daily basis.
The company’s name change to Canyon Wholesale Provisions coincided with Marty’s purchase of a larger building on Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The company stayed at this location for more than 30 years, while our product lines continued to grow along with our customer base.
In addition, Canyon’s reputation as a clean, friendly high-quality provisions company helped our distribution grow rapidly.
In May 2007, the growing need for a larger facility was overwhelming. We moved to our current location in downtown Los Angeles, offering greater efficiency, improved storage solutions, trucking logistics, office space and more.
